MKGaming - "Heading back to the arctic wastes of space, Lost Planet 3 acts as a kind of prequel for the series. The tech is less advanced, the weapons are more rough and ready, and the world feels more uncharted than previous titles. The weird thing though? Lost Planet 3 feels like a cheap clone of Dead Space 3, itself accused of copying Lost Planet. The irony is so thick you could make a snowman from it."

Reviewer Steve Wright writes, "I didnt expect to like Lost Planet 3 as much as I did. Starting up the game, I was dropped into a Dead Space 3 rip-off featuring cheap scares, plastic, super-glossy textures and horrible snow physics. Yep, I said snow physics. It wouldnt take a Canadian to stop and notice how weird the snow acted when you walked over it."

"I mean, I'm not announcing anything right now, but I will say we had a great trilogy of games and we still have faith in that franchise," he added.
Gibeau said the Dead Space series is "something that we're really proud of," but declined to give specifics about the future of the brand.
What could spell trouble for the Dead Space franchise going forward are issues of resource, Gibeau said, noting the publisher only has "a certain number of teams" at its disposal.
"The worst thing you can do as a company is try too many things at once," he said.

Publisher still has "faith" in the sci-fi horror series, but also suggests it's in the vault.
"No it's not out of rotation," Gibeau said. "I mean, I'm not announcing anything right now, but I will say we had a great trilogy of games and we still have faith in that franchise.
"Dead Space is something that we're very proud of," he added. "We are not making any public announcements on what we're doing with the next Dead space, but we definitely have a great set of IPs to pull out of the vault."
Gibeau also suggested that one of the reasons we're not already hearing about a new Dead Space is a lack of development resources.
